What you can do next?

  1. Put on some music with no words so that you are not distracted. Close your eyes and just be still until the music ends. During this time, simply observe the thoughts that are going on through your mind. Were they judgemental, positive, distracting or useful? Write down your reflections in a diary or take note on your phone. During the week, repeat this exercise each day and see how the thoughts shift or not, and if you are able to steer them and change them as you are reflecting.
  2. Have a conversation with a family or friend and ask them what their inner voice sounds like.
