Event description

On this special day, tweens and teens will embark on a unique culinary and crafting adventure, guided by a transdisciplinary team of allied health professionals. As they prepare for Easter, they will take on the challenge of "cooking without looking," developing their senses of touch, smell, and hearing to navigate the kitchen with confidence, while also maximising their use of residual vision.

They will measure ingredients by feel, practice careful hand placement for safe chopping, and rely on organisation and problem-solving skills to adapt recipes. Alongside cooking up a storm, they will craft festive Easter decorations, further refining their fine motor skills and creativity.

Through this immersive experience, participants will strengthen essential life skills – including spatial awareness, teamwork, mathematics, and kitchen safety – all while collaborating in a supportive and inclusive environment.
