A new initiative from The Vision Australia Audio Description Service.

Pre-show notes provide set design descriptions, character descriptions, synopsis, local reviews, and background to the playwright, actors and more.
Circulated prior to the audio described performance via email, these notes serve to increase access and enrich the theatre experience.

It’s an exciting development to an already excellent service.

About Audio Description

Audio Description is a key tool in enabling people who are blind or have low vision to access every part of the arts and entertainment world they choose.

Delivered by highly trained Vision Australia audio describers, transitions, movements, gestures, props, settings, costumes and scenery are vividly and succinctly brought to life during pauses in on stage dialogue of a live theatre event. Transmitted to you by a small receiver and single earpiece, allowing you to sit in virtually any area of the theatre.

Each year this service describes blockbuster Musicals, Operas, Plays, and Ballets and more.

Pre-show notes and audio description come at no extra cost.
