Event Description
Vision Australia Library is a proud supporter of this year’s Melbourne Writers Festival. We are honoured to host Anita Heiss (Wiradyuri Nation), as she discusses her latest novel, ‘The Paradise Pact’.
Anita describes ‘The Paradise Pact’ as “our shared story of sistahood and self”. It is a novel that “celebrates women in all their phases: mothers, grandmothers, friends, lovers, runners, dreamers. It honours the richness of sisterhood and the quiet power of choosing yourself without abandoning those you love.” (Mindy Woods)
Anita will be In Conversation with Hana Assafiri, author of ‘Moroccan Soup Bar; Recipes of a Spoken Menu, and a Little Bit of Spice’, and ‘Hana: The audacity to be free’. Hana is a Melbourne-based social activist, feminist and owner of the popular Moroccan Soup Bar restaurant.
