Event Description

The Vision Australia Library is excited to spice up our calendar of events for 2025 with the launch of a new program. We are hosting a series of Author Readings, commencing in March with the talented Jacqueline ‘Rock’ Bublitz.

Our Author Reading will commence with an introduction to Jacqueline, providing an insight into her background and the journey that led to her writing her debut novel, Before You Knew My Name. Jacqueline will then choose a passage from her newly released novel, Leave the Girls Behind, and treat us to a live reading for 20 minutes. Our library members will have the opportunity to post questions via the Zoom chat, which will contribute to a lively Q&A to conclude our event.

About Jacqueline ‘Rock’ Bublitz

Jacqueline Bublitz is a New Zealand born author, who lives between Melbourne and her hometown in New Zealand’s North Island. Her first novel, Before You Knew My Name, was published in 2021. The list of nominations and awards for this debut novel reached double figures, culminating in Winner of the Australian Book Industry Award for General Fiction book of the year.

In October last year, Jacqueline published her second novel, Leave the Girls Behind. Not to be overshadowed by her debut novel, Leave the Girls Behind is described as a “taut suspense thriller overlaid with a moving exploration of the ways in which violent crime ricochets through the lives of those left behind.”

Join Maureen O’Reilly as she bravely delves into Jacqueline’s motivation for hanging around morgues and exploring the dark corners of New York City’s parks….not your typical tourist itinerary!
