Meet the 2021 Vision Australia Bursary Recipients

New South Wales

Miss Amy Ridley is enrolled in Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University.  The bursary has awarded Amy with a QBraille XL and Dynabook Portege computer.

Miss Mikayla Kumar is studying Bachelor of Psychology at Macquarie University.  The bursary has awarded Mikayla a Toshiba Dynabook Terca A50 with Office 365, an iPad Air with WI-FI and a sturdy case, KNFB Reader with Voice Dream Reader, LG high definition 24 inch monitor, Microsoft sculpt comfort mouse, Keyboard Stickers and a High contrast keyboard.

Mr Nathan Johnston is studying his Diploma in Remedial Massage at TAFE (Sutherland College) NSW.  The bursary awarded Nathan Blaze ET, Toshiba Dynabook Portege X40, Talking Blood Pressure Monitor, MedCentre Talking Alarm Clock, Small tactile timer, Aftershokz Trekz Air Wireless Headphones and a Smart Travel Lamp.

Master Erencan Pelin is enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Creative Intelligence & Innovation at the Sydney University of Technology.  The bursary has awarded Erencan a Dell XPS 15, Dell 24 inch Monitor, Microsoft Office Home and Student, ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader with software maintenance agreement.

Master Matthew Zhou is enrolled in Bachelor of Cyber Security and IT at Macquarie University.  The bursary awarded Matthew a Dell XPS laptop, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Microsoft Home & Student licence.

Master Benjamin Gulliford has enrolled in Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University.  The bursary awarded Benjamin a Surface Pro with Geoforce Graphics and an iPad with AppleCare.

Miss Hajar Bahram is enrolled in Bachelor of Science (Psychology) at Western Sydney University.  The bursary has awarded Hajar a Surface Pro 7 with type cover and sleeve, ZoomText Magnifier & Reader with SMA, Office 365 licence, iPad Mini, Prodigi Connect 12 distance camera kit, Manfrotto Pixi Tripod, 5000mAh Power Bank, Microsoft sculpt Mouse and a Smart Travel Lamp.

Mrs Elizabeth O’Neil-Waller is studying a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development at Murdoch University.  The bursary awarded Elizabeth with JAWS Fusion including software maintenance, a Dell G7 i7 Laptop, Victor Reader Stream, Aftershokz Aeropex headphones, Microsoft 365 subscription, Wireless USB track sensor mouse, and a laptop backpack.

Queensland

Master Ollie Ketterer is enrolled at Griffith University to study Bachelor of IT & Cyber Security.  The bursary has awarded Ollie a Miniguide, iPad Pro, Magic keyboard, Apple Pencil, Razor Laptop, Samsung Galaxy Smart Watch, 27” Monitor and a Monitor Mount.

Victoria

Mr Caleb Neyenhuis is enrolled in a Bachelor of IT (Networking & Security) at Federation University of Australia.  The bursary awarded Caleb an Asus Zenbook computer, JAWS Home with Software Maintenance and a Focus 40 Blue Generation 5 Braille Display. 

Master Samuel Valavanis is enrolled in a Diploma of audio Engineering and Sound Production at JMC Academy.  The bursary awarded Samuel with a Dell laptop, Reaper Audio Production software, JAWS Home with SMA, Victor Reader Trek, iPhone 12, Aftershokz headphones, Olympus Digital Voice Recorder with External Microphone and Clip.

Master ThienTuoc Autran is enrolled in a Bachelor of Business and IT at Monash University.  From the bursary award, Thien has received ABBYY FineReader, Apple MacBook Pro with AppleCare+, Apple iPad Pro with AppleCare+, Apple Pencil, Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad, Smart Folio for iPad, Laptop Sleeve and Apple iPhone 12.

Miss Lucy Carpenter is studying Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) at RMIT.  The bursary has awarded Lucy a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 12 and a Smart Travel Lamp.

Miss Claudia Dimech is enrolled at Monash University to study Bachelor of Arts (Psychology).  The bursary awarded Claudia with an Apple MacBook Pro with AppleCare+.

Mr Antony Rako is enrolled in Diploma of Community Services at Victoria University.  The bursary has awarded Antony JAWS Professional with Software Maintenance Agreement, AfterShokz Headphones, Backpack, Pearl Camera with OpenBook Software and Asus Zenbook.

Master Jack O’Leary is enrolled at Monash University to study Bachelor of Arts and Science.  The bursary awarded Jack an iPhone 11, Toshiba Dynabook Portege, Pearl Text to Speech Camera with OpenBook and JAWS Home Edition with software maintenance agreement.

Ms Mahnya Smith is enrolled in Diploma of Community Services at Melbourne Polytechnic.  The bursary awarded Mahnya with an Apple MacBook Pro including Apple Care, Abbyy FineReader for Mac, Microsoft Office for Mac subscription, Apple iPhone with AppleCare and a laptop backpack.

Mr Abdul Rafhi is enrolled in Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education at Latrobe University.  The bursary awarded Abdul an Iris Vision.

Miss Cecelia Rickards has enrolled in Bachelor of Primary and Secondary Education at Monash University. The bursary has awarded Cecelia ZoomText Fusion, Dynabook Portege X30 with 3 year warranty, iPad Air and OpenBook OCR Software with Pearl Camera.

Western Australia

Miss Bibi Sara Qalandari is studying Bachelor of Biomedical Science at University of Western Australia.  From the bursary Sara has been awarded ZoomText Magnifier/Screen Reader, Zoomax Snow 12”, HP Geoforce desktop computer, 27” Full HD Monitor, Monitor Arm with Dual USB, iPad Air 4th Generation, Apple Pencil and Microsoft Home & Student software.

Miss Geraldine Di Mambro is enrolled in her second year of Applied Fashion Design & Merchandising at TAFE.  The bursary has awarded Geraldine a Grade-o-meter, ZoomText magnifier screen reader with SMA, Openbook software with Pearl camera, Samsung A71 mobile phone and HP Omen Valkyrie laptop.
