Apple hasn’t finished with their new releases.

This week on Vision Australia’s Talking Tech, blind tech guru David Woodbridge goes through the new items Apple released after their September keynote event.

The October launch sees Apple release a new laptop to their range with the MacBook Pro.

After a myriad of complaints, the laptop now includes internal ports again. Instead of one or two USB-Cs, there's an HDMI port and an SD card slot. It’s also removed the touch pad at the top of the keyboard that no one used, and the trip hazard of the charging cable has been improved as they’ve brought back the Magsafe charger.

In terms of smart speakers, there’s nothing new other than the Homepod Mini now comes in new colours.

But Apple is trying to get more people to use the personal assistant Siri, and has apparently enhanced the usability of Siri and Apple music via their Apple Music Voice Plan.

“I personally don’t know why you’d want that in the first place,” David admits.

“If you’re going to do Apple music you might as well just do the individual or full family plan.”

There is also the third version of the AirPods, that boasts better design and sound, sweat and dust resistance, and up to six hours of play time. This version of course includes no noise cancellation or transparency modes, that’s saved for the AirPods Pro which remains unchanged.
