Set in the far future, Dune is the classic hero quest, following Paul Atreides and his noble family thrust into a war for the deadly and inhospitable desert planet Arrakis, A.K.A Dune

With the big-budget, sci-fi epic, Dune now on the big screen, and part two hitting cinemas in 2023, it might be time to re-visit the books that started it all.

The Dune saga at the Vision Australia Library

The Vision Australia Library has the entire original Dune saga by Frank Herbert available in DAISY audio, consisting of:

1. Dune: Set in the distant future when planets form part of a Galactic Empire, two great dynastic families are locked in a bitter feud

2. Dune Messiah: When the order is no longer able to dominate the man they have made a god, they set out to overthrow him.

3. Children of Dune: Paul Atreides has been succeeded by his twin children Leto and Ghanima, under the regency of his sister Alia.

4. God Emperor of Dune: Arrakis, the barren desert planet, is now a green and hospitable world. The giant sandworms are gone and there is only one link between the world and its epic past.

5. Heretics of Dune: The wheel of history has turned full circle: the deserts have returned to Dune and with them the giant sand-worms.

6. Chapterhouse Dune: Planet Dune has been destroyed; only pockets of resistance remain with the opposition mainly from the Bene Gesserit co-ordinated from their still undiscovered home world. Chapter House
