The NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) is developing NSW’s first resource to improve the experience for patients who are blind or have low vision when in public hospitals. This project is in the pilot phase, due for completion in December 2020.
If you are blind or have low vision and if you are going into Bankstown, Fairfield or Sydney and Sydney Eye Hospital in the near future or have been an in-patient in a NSW public hospital in the last two years, we would like you to participate in the pilot phase, drawing on your experience to provide feedback, good or bad.
What does this mean for me?
As a person who is blind or has low vision planning to go into hospital or has been in hospital, you will contribute to the content of the resource for patients and health professionals.
Involvement opportunities currently include reviewing the resource followed by a 30 minute one-to-one discussion to obtain your feedback. Confidentiality will be maintained with your feedback. It will be used to further develop and improve the final resource.
Sessions are between November 30 to December 11 2020 and will be via phone. This is a voluntary activity, but we would really value your input to help ensure this resource reflects the needs of all patients who are blind or have low vision.
