Finished artworks from the Recycled Materials WorkshopIn partnership with Wollongong City Council Cultural Services and local artists, our team in Wollongong held five community art workshops on felt-making, mosaics and sculpture using recycled materials between April and June 2015.

The program was a trial community engagement project in which clients, staff and volunteers participated in workshops to create tactile art wall panels. There was a focus on both the art process and the produced artworks being tactile and accessible for people who are blind or have low vision.

Completed mosaic art panels from the workshopTogether, we produced 21 wonderful tactile wall panels for our Wollongong centre under the theme, ‘From the Mountains to the Sea’.

The tactile wall panels will be exhibited between 8th – 22nd November at Project Contemporary Artspace, Wollongong as part of the Viva La Gong festival. Stay tuned to our Events page for more information.

Following this exhibit, these art pieces will be displayed in our Wollongong centre creating a tactile art trail for our community to enjoy.
