Queenslanders will head to the polls on Saturday 19 March 2016 to vote in local government elections and on a referendum for fixed, four-year terms for State Government.

Vision Australia has continued to advocate for accessible voting options and at this election a telephone voting service is available.

About the telephone voting service

There are two-steps involved in using the telephone voting service.

First, you must register to use this service. Call The Electoral Commission Queensland on 1300 912 782 and select option ‘1’ on the telephone menu.

At the end of the registration process a registration number and PIN will be issued. These are used to provide a level of security during the voting process.

You can register to use the telephone voting service up until 6pm Friday 18 March 2016.

To cast your vote, call the same telephone number 1300 912 782 and select option ‘2’ on the telephone menu. Once a staff member has confirmed your registration number and PIN they will guide you through the voting process.

You can place your vote using the telephone voting service from Monday 7 March 2016.
