Vision Australia volunteers recognised at Volunteering ACT'c Volunteer of the Year Awards

Vision Australia's Talking Newspaper volunteers in Narooma and Cooma have been awarded a highly commended award at Volunteering ACT Volunteer of the Year Awards 2012, for community care and social support.

In addition, last Friday Coordinator of Volunteers from Canberra, Steven Cuthbert, together with deputy Mayor Bronnie Taylor, visited the group to present them with their Vision Australai years of service recognition pins.

Volunteers Tony Mackenzie, Peter Schaeffer and Betty Braden were recognised for 15 years of volunteering for Vision Australia. Judy Knighton and Roger Norton were acknowledged for their 10 years of service, but were unable to attend the presentation.

Congratulations to the entire Talking Cooma-Monaro Express volunteers for this well deserved recognition.
