We were devastated to hear the news of Terry Gill's passing. His contribution to Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight across four decades was immeasurable and he leaves big boots to fill.
Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight is a part of so many Australians’ celebration of Christmas each year and as Santa Claus, Terry was at the heart of this tradition. Several generations have grown up watching him each Christmas Eve, and they in turn have shared the experience with their own children.
On behalf of Vision Australia and members of the blindness and low vision community, I thank him for the warmth and character he brought to Carols by Candlelight so generously for the past 27 years. We share the sadness of his many fans and offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time.
