Dame Elisabeth Murdoch was a generous supporter of Vision Australia. She was kind enough to open her home to host events that raised vital funds to support our youngest clients.

She was an Ambassador  for Vision Australia’s ‘Have Cane, Am Able’ Project for many years and encouraged people to join with her in donating  so that more children and adults with vision loss could get the invaluable support they required to fully participate in every part of life they chose.

The ‘Have Cane, Am Able’ Project continues to support people to learn vital white cane skills enabling them to live, work and travel independently.

Dame Elisabeth always showed such enthusiasm, kindness and grace in her support of our services and the legacy that she has left through her selfless acts and determination to help people who are blind or low vision has made a huge difference.

Vision Australia wishes to express our deepest sympathy following the sad death of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch. She will be greatly missed. We send our sincere condolences to her family and friends during this time.
