Victoria’s Minister for Police and Emergency Services, the Hon Kim Wells MP, and Neville Taylor, Acting Assistant Commissioner Road Policing from Victoria Police, officially announced the operation of a traffic camera at the intersection of Macaulay Rd and Stubbs St, opposite Vision Australia premises, yesterday.

This comes four years after Vision Australia notified the Victorian Government that there were road safety concerns at Macaulay Rd and Stubbs St following two separate accidents.

A traffic camera will be fully operational at the intersection by the end of May. It is designed to increase the safety of staff and the hundreds of visitors, including those who are blind or have low vision, to the Kensington centre each week.

This camera will help ease concerns about crossing the road safely.
