Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.
In the program of February 4, the discussion is around discrimination and how it can be countered. We hear from a man who has just had finalised in his favour a complaint against a holiday apartment owner, who refused accommodation to him and his wife because he has a guide dog. Also, in recent days, a complaint against the NSW Rail Corp because of inadequate audible station announcements has been upheld by the Federal Court. The disability Discrimination Commissioner talks about this case which he as an individual initiated. He explains his role as the Disability Discrimination Commissioner and the right of individuals to lodge a complaint.
