Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.

In the program for the week of August 19, there is more leading up to the election and further discussion of employment. We hear about Vision Australia’s campaign, urging candidates to think of people whose vision loss occurs over the age of 65 as currently they are not included in Disability Care. We also include the details for telephone assisted voting at the upcoming election. A young woman with low vision tells of her experience acquiring a job and her employer gives his perspective of her role in the workplace.

Participants this week are:
  • Gerrard Gosens, Special Projects Manager with Vision Australia’s Public Affairs unit;
  • Bridget Jolley, an employee of Brightstar (Australia) who has low vision;
  • Chris Kakavas, Supply Chain Services Support Manager with Brightstar (Australia);
  • Susan Thompson, an Advocacy Advisor with Vision Australia.

Also this week, Frances Keyland from the Vision Australia Library previews another title in Reader Recommended.
