Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.

In the program for the week of January 26, we hear of research to develop an interactive sound emitting ball and meet an Australia Day ambassador. An electronic engineer at the University of Queensland explains the interactive ball, I-Ball project to produce what will initially be a soccer ball for use by people with vision loss. It emits sounds for location and can even be programmed to vary the sounds as required. Also, Australia Day ambassador James Pittar talks about his busy life including how he accomplishes distance open water swimming as someone who is totally blind.

Program participants this week are:
  • Surya Singh, an electronic engineer with the University of Queensland;
  • James Pittar, an Australia Day ambassador.
