Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.

The program for the week of July 15, following on the heels of NAIDOC week, looks at the situation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are blind or have low vision. Stephen Jolley speaks with one of Vision Australia’s three Indigenous Community Development trainees. We also bring you career reflections from the winner of this year’s Life Achievement Award from the Round Table on Information Access for People with a Print Disability. The award is in recognition of her outstanding contribution as an educator of children who are blind or have low vision.

You can hear:

  • Suzie Engert,  Newcastle based Vision Australia Indigenous Community Development Worker;
  • Dr Frances Gentle, winner of the 2013 Round Table on Information Access for People with a Print Disability, Life achievement award.
