This week we celebrate National Volunteer Week. This year’s theme is Give Happy: Live Happy - based upon research that suggests volunteers are happier as a result of their altruistic efforts.
Peter Greco speaks to John Doherty, who has been a volunteer broadcaster on RPH radio for the last nine years. John built an extensive career in the media, starting in radio on 5KA, before switching to television and working his way up to newsreader at Channel 9.
Peter also talks with Roger Soren and Rocky Berlingeri. Rocky is a client of Vision Australia, and Roger is a volunteer. In tandem, their story is a perfect example of the difference a committed volunteer can make.
