Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.

In the program for the week of August 25, we learn of an upcoming national eye health study and hear reflections from a retiring braille producer. A principal investigator with the Centre for Eye Research Australia explains the background to and process for conducting research expected to give the first clear picture of the incidence of various vision conditions across the Australian population. Then, a member of Vision Australia’s braille production unit who has retired after 31 years of service talks about his career and the advances with braille production methods.

Guests this week are:
  • Dr Peter van Wijngaarden, ophthalmologist and Principal Investigator in to diabetic retinopathy with the Centre for eye Research Australia;
  • Allen Egerton, retiring braille proofreader and transcriber with Vision Australia.
Also this week, Frances Keyland from the Vision Australia Library, previews titles in Reader Recommended.
