Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.

In the program for the week of February 17, there is discussion of both employment and audio description. A PHD student promoting the hypothesis that regulation is essential for making public and may be corporate employers take responsibility, is seeking input from people with disabilities for his current research. He is seeking volunteers to complete a short survey and possibly participate in an interview in order to collect data around this matter of employment for people with disabilities including those who are blind or have low vision. Then the national policy spokesperson of Blind Citizens Australia brings us up to date with good news about the roll-out of audio description in Australian cinemas along with the mediocre progress towards audio description on Australian television.

Participants this week are:
  • Dale Reardon, a PHD student from Hobart in Tasmania;
  • Lauren Henley, National Policy Officer with Blind Citizens Australia.
Also this week, Frances Keyland from the Vision Australia Library previews two titles in Reader Recommended.
