Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.
In the program for the week of December 31, we acknowledge the birthday of Louis Braille. We have an extended conversation with an academic researcher who tells of his work investigating how people read braille with the goal of enhancing the process of learning to read it. Also, we play a musical tribute first released in 2009 for the bicentenary of the birth of Louis Braille.
In the program you can hear Professor Ronan Reilly from the University of Western Sydney, speaking with Robyn Winslow from Vision Australia Radio and with Stephen Jolley. Canadian blind musician Terry Kelly sings Merci Louis, his tribute to the inventor of the key to literacy for people who are blind.
