Talking Vision is Vision Australia's national radio program on blindness and low vision.
In the program for the week of April 8, we talk about Internet accessibility. The Australian Human Rights Commission recently released its "Twenty Years, Twenty Stories" video series marking 20 years of the Disability Discrimination Act. Amongst the stories is one highlighting the landmark Maguire verses SOCOG case, which is arguably the most significant episode in the evolution of Internet accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision. In the program you can hear the production from the Human Rights Commission series along with more reflections from the man at the centre of that "Just a Ticket" story. We also have commentary on the current state of Internet accessibility from a representative of Media Access Australia.
