To help plan your visit to Vision Australia’s upcoming Texpo you can download maps and descriptions of the layouts of all the displays that will be there. Back by popular demand, these maps and descriptions are for each venue at Coorparoo, Kooyong and Enfield. The display descriptions are available in Rich Text (RTF) and audio MP3 formats while the visual maps are in PDF format.

Please note that there may be last minute changes on the day but these give you a good idea of what is happening at each Texpo and where.

To download this helpful information as well as a listing of all the exhibitors that will be at Texpo 2013 visit this page of the Vision Australia website: www.visionaustralia.org.au/texpo

We are also very excited to announce a QR code project we are trialling at Texpo this year. The codes will allow people who are blind or have low vision to independently obtain detailed information about various locations, exhibitors, services and products by scanning the codes using their accessible smartphones.

The Texpo team have set up a dedicated Internet web server to support the trial of QR Codes at Texpo and have developed an iPhone app, called “VAQR”, to allow Vision Australia’s clients to participate in the trial. This free app has been written to make scanning and reading QR codes very straight forward and is available free of charge on the Apple App Store.
Here is the link to download this app: https://itunes.apple.com/lk/app/vaqr/id670836885?mt=8

Alternatively you can visit the App Store and download it. We encourage you to download it now in preparation of using it at Texpo.

QR Code readers are also available on most other smartphones such as Android and Windows Mobile phones.

Each of the QR codes will direct iPhone to read aloud information from a dedicated webpage associated with each particular sign. This will allow each sign to be “dynamic” - allowing the Vision Australia Texpo team to update the information being displayed as often as necessary.

Updates include information about events, meetings, attractions or even hazards in a particular location.
