Debbie Deshayes is looking forward to being part of the Gippsland region’s sense of community as the new team manager of Vision Australia’s Warragul Office.

Debbie has been a counsellor at Vision Australia since 2007, but has also got to know the organisation well as a client and volunteer.

She started with Vision Australia in the Heidelberg office and moved into a senior counsellor position in Children’s Services and acting team manager in Kooyong.

She says she was attracted to the Gippsland region because of its community appeal.

“One aspect that attracted me to the Gippsland region is the strong sense of community.  The invaluable contribution made by volunteers is very close to my own personal pursuit to make a contribution that is meaningful and heartfelt,” she said.

Over the past twelve years Debbie has facilitated a number of community groups, such as the Cataract Support Group, Vision Impaired Swim Victoria, and is a member of the Vision Australia Client Representative Council and Chair of the South Eastern Regional Client Committee.
