The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Board has developed a draft 2013-16 Strategic Plan that outlines their vision, mission and goals.

Developed by the NDIA Board in close consultation with the NDIA’s management team and Independent Advisory Council, the Strategic Plan will be reviewed by the NDIA Board annually and will be aligned with the NDIA’s Corporate Plan and Statement of Intent.

The draft Plan has three goals:

  • people with disability are in control and have choices;
  • the NDIS is financially sustainable and governed using insurance principles; and
  • the community has ownership, confidence and pride in both the NDIS and the NDIA.

Each goal is structured around three outcomes, a number of deliverables and a range of performance outcomes. Also listed are the four insurance principles upon which the NDIS is based.

The NDIA have invited people with disability, their families and carers, service providers and the general community to comment on the Strategic Plan by close of business Thursday, 16 January 2014.
