The artistic creations from well-known Bendigo personalities will once again go up for sale to raise much-needed funds for blindness and low vision services.

Vision Australia’s biannual Celebrity Art Show and Auction is into its 10th year and will be held again on October 10.

Twenty-eight Bendigo personalities from businesses such as Bendigo Bank, City of Greater Bendigo, and RDS Chartered Accountants, have donned paint brushes and cameras to create paintings and canvases that will go up for auction on the night.

Tour De France cyclist, and Castlemaine native, Zak Depster is also set to add his creation to the auction mix.

Vision Australia Bendigo Team Manager, Ruth O’Connell, said the support the art show receives from local identities is fantastic.

“The event has received excellent community support. It has been very successful in raising thousands of dollars for our services. We’re expecting approximately 300 people to attend this year’s event,” she said.

Vision Australia Bendigo provides services within Victoria’s largest health region of Loddon Mallee. It currently provides services to around 2000 people who are blind or have low vision. Staff at the Bendigo centre offer a range of services to people who are blind or have low vision, including occupational therapy, orientation and mobility instruction, low vision clinics, technology consultancy and training, day programs and Seeing Eye Dogs.

The art will be auctioned off by Doug Lougoon of Doug Lougoon Real Estate.
