The Vision Australia Library is expanding its collection of audio titles with 5000 new books entering the collection over the next eight months.
Through a partnership with Wavesound, Australia’s leading publisher of exclusive audiobooks, large print books, and digital products to libraries, Vision Australia clients will now have access to a huge variety of genres in audio from both Australian and international authors.
This includes the latest releases from Australia’s biggest stars like Tim Winton (The Shepherd’s Hut), Jane Harper (The Dry, Force of Nature, The Lost Man) and Graeme Simsion (Two Steps Forward); award-winning authors like Garry Disher, Charlotte Wood and Jock Serong; long-time favourites like Fleur McDonald, Karly Lane and Nicole Alexander; and exciting debut bestsellers like Scrublands by Chris Hammer and The Nowhere Child by Christian White.
Amongst the international authors clients will find top names like Dan Brown, Danielle Steel, Jojo Moyes, Marian Keyes, Hilary Mantel and Val McDermid just to name a few.
Vision Australia manager accessible information library services Anthea Taylor said the addition of 5000 audio titles is fantastic for clients.
“The library currently has more than 40,000 audio titles in the collection and we’re constantly growing this number because our commitment is to provide more content faster for clients,” Anthea said.
“This partnership with Wavesound will definitely improve the library’s ability to satisfy more client suggestions and pre-empt suggestions by ordering popular titles in advance and in a timely fashion.”
