Over 80 enthusiastic clients advanced on Vision Australia in Coorparoo yesterday, to celebrate the Brisbane office's first-ever Client Day, March on In.

Kicking off with a welcome morning tea, everyone joined in a program of hands-on and interactive activities.

First up, the group raised the roof with a lesson in African drumming, and pitted their wits against each other in a general knowledge quiz.

After lunch, the group were drawn into a web of intrigue by Sandy Curtis – a local crime author who has just published her seventh novel. Everyone’s investigative skills were further put to the test in an orientation and mobility exercise based on the world-famous Whodunit game, Cluedo.

Karen Knight, General Manager Queensland and Northern Territory and Quiz Master on the day, said that the event was a great opportunity for clients to build friendships and networks, in a fun and supportive environment.

“From the level of conversation and laugher ringing out during the activities, it was evident that our clients really enjoyed the day. I would like to thank our staff, volunteers and donors for making today a success," said Karen.

Sylvain Minier, who heads up the Brisbane-based Wynnum Local Client Group, said that he would like to see the Client Day become a regular calendar fixture.

“People came and made themselves known to me and I had the chance to meet others that I wouldn’t normally get the chance to meet. It was a really well put together day. I enjoyed lunch and I think everyone really loved it,” said Sylvain.
