This is an update from your local Vision Australia regional client services manager about the future of Vision Australia in your area.
As of Thursday, December 12, the Vision Australia Mildura office will close as we move to a new model of delivering services in the region.
You will still receive the same quality and range of Vision Australia services, however appointments will take place in clients’ homes, the community or at scheduled clinics.
Starting in 2020, we will also be holding regular low vision clinics and other appointments at 136-138 Langtree Avenue, Mildura. These clinics will be by appointment only with no drop-in capabilities and. We will communicate clinic dates to you in the coming months.
Our many recreational and community activities will continue to be held in Mildura:
- From Wednesday, December 4, our Day Program will be held in the Goodrem Room at the Church of Christ, 125 Deakin Avenue, Mildura.
- From Monday, December 2, our Swish Group will be held in the Church of Christ Hall (entry via Bowrings Lane).
- Our Friday Indoor Bowls at Mildura Senior Citizens Club and our Monthly Dine out group will continue to operate unchanged.
The Vision Australia Radio Mildura Station will cease broadcasting on December 12, with content from across our network to be broadcast on the 107.5FM frequency as we continue to investigate our options for local broadcasts.
