Event Description

Have you always fancied yourself as the next Lois Lane?

Was your childhood hero Tintin, the intrepid boy reporter?

Or perhaps the stereotypical Lou Grant, from the Mary Tyler Moore Show!

This is your opportunity to venture into the world of journalism, whether that be print or digital!

Vision Australia Library are hosting a five-week writing course, to provide you with the skills you need to become a published journalist. Facilitated by Dr Sarah Ayoub, our five-week course will cover the fundamentals of writing a news story.  Sarah will provide guidance on effectively researching your piece. Insight into pitching your story to a targeted audience.  And advice on writing feature pieces, lifestyle articles, and personal essays.

This is your opportunity to transition from voicing your thoughts in ‘letters to the editor’, to sharing your experiences and opinions in a carefully crafted article. Our free online course is conducted over five weekly sessions on Monday September 28th, and 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th October.  12.30pm – 2pm.
