As a part of the LEAP program this year, participants are being offered a work experience day with their local office.

LEAP participant, fifteen-year-old Trinity completed her work experience at the Townsville office on Thursday 10 July.

She began her day with a warm welcome from the team, completed the sign-in process and taken through the emergency procedures. Following this, Trinity was taken on a building tour and introduced to some of the team. Although she was a little shy at first, she did extremely well.

Throughout the day, Trinity learned how to use Canva and successfully created a poster for her chosen item from the Vision Store - the Clover.

Her Occupational Therapist, Mae Meekin, prepared a polished work experience plan with step-by-step tasks, including how to research a product and design her own poster. The final product is now proudly displayed in our Vision Store.

A huge thank you to Mae for her supportive and thoughtful guidance throughout the day - it made a big difference for Trinity.

Regional Client Lead Saranne Maude, who supported the work experience stated: "This feels like the beginning of many great success stories for Trinity. We wish her all the best as she continues her LEAP journey and works toward her goals in education and employment."

LEAP extends a huge thank you to the Townville team for their support of the LEAP program and Trinity.
