One hour with Aaron Vernon

Aaron Vernon is a renowned specialist gaming developer, who co-founded Split Atom Labs in 2023 with industry veterans from Meta, to focus on building a more inclusive future for casual gaming.

Globally, one in six people live with significant disabilities, and many face mental health challenges. Whilst games can offer a reprieve from stressors and add social connection, they remain largely inaccessible. Split Atom Labs, a pioneering game studio, was born from the belief that gaming has the power to build connections and support mental wellness.

Aaron is also a finalist of the Apple Design Award 2025 with his latest game creation ‘Land of Livia’, which is a story-driven adventure game designed for under-served audiences, especially people living with disabilities.
