Talking Vision is Vision Australia Radio’s flagship program, discussing the latest news and issues from a blindness and low vision perspective.
On this week’s episode, Sam is joined by Janelle Colquhoun, director of Brisbane-based performing arts company Salubrious Productions, of which she’s been director for 24 years after experiencing vision loss later in her life.
Janelle knows first-hand how much of a minefield running your own business can be, let alone when you’re blind or have low vision with the extra issues which come along with that.
“It’s always good sharing my experiences and what I’ve learnt along the way with other people, and then hearing also what they’ve learnt,” Janelle said.
“If I can share my experiences with other people and how I’ve worked around the issues, and they can share their issues then obviously we’re all better off,” she said.
Janelle will be one of the presenters taking part in The Entrepreneurial Mindset, a series of webinars run in partnership between Vision Australia and Blind Citizens Australia.
The webinar series has been set up by and for aspiring business owners who are blind or have low vision, aiming to build awareness of entrepreneurship as a pathway to employment and financial independence.
