On Wednesday 15 August Carol Goess read her story "Can we lick the Spoon, now?" to an eager group of Feelix members.

Five families came together to celebrate the morning, including six children and even some grandparents, with the children ranging from 5 1/2 to 2 years old.

When story time was over the children made their own cakes, stirring chocolate cake mix with beautifully tactile wooden spoons. Needless to say these were licked often. Also the children had chances to crack eggs, sift flour, taste cocoa and feel the granules of sugar.

It was a messy time but one where the children really got involved in the nitty gritty of cake making. After they washed up their bowls and their faces, we had splendid chocolate cake for morning tea.
