Living with blindness or low vision doesn’t have to be a barrier to people living the life they choose – just look at Matt Formston.
At the age of five, Matt was left with no central vision and only five per cent of his peripheral vision, but he hasn’t let that hold him back from following his dreams.
Matt is an Australian Paralympian, national Paracycling champion and World Champion surfer. He has also carved out a successful corporate career for himself and is an extremely proud family man.
Along with the constant support of friends and family, and some here and there from Vision Australia, Matt’s dedication and commitment has been evident in his successes and we are proud to announce him as a Vision Australia Ambassador.
Matt joins fellow Paralympian Jess Gallagher as a Vision Australia Ambassador. We believe our Ambassadors are great example of how, with passion, determination and a little bit of support along the way, people who are blind or have low vision can live the life they choose.
