Vision Australia is the first and only Australasian organisation to become a Founding Member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), which launched in March this year with 29 founding member institutions from six countries.

We’re in good company! Experts from our renowned accessibility division, Digital Access, will have the opportunity to collaborate with other accessibility professionals from companies such as Adobe, Microsoft and IBM to help shape the future of accessibility globally.

IAAP is a membership-based organisation for individuals and organisations that are focused on accessibility or are in the process of building their accessibility skills and strategies. The objective of the association is to help accessibility professionals develop and advance their careers and to help organisations integrate accessibility into their products and infrastructure. The IAAP will provide a place for accessibility professionals around the world to gather, share experiences and enrich their knowledge of accessibility.

Accessibility professionals – get involved!

The ultimate goal of IAAP is to create a globally connected and informed community with the right resources and support to be successful. With both individual and organisational memberships on offer, this is an opportunity for you to network with like-minded professionals who are focused on creating accessible products, content and services.

Would you like access to a global accessibility network? IAAP membership has a lot of great benefits, such as:

  • Access to an unprecedented global network of accessibility professionals
  • Opportunities to participate in committees and task forces
  • Access to professional development opportunities and certification
  • Discounts on webinars and other fee-based IAAP activities
  • Opportunities to share organisational best practices

Not interested in membership? IAAP’s “Accessibility Now” newsletters feature curated news clips related to the accessibility industry that will help keep you informed and develop your skills.

Or simply follow IAAP on Twitter or LinkedIn to stay connected.

Coming soon – IAAP Connections

Currently under construction, IAAP Connections will be an interactive online community; a place where IAAP members worldwide can collaborate, and share knowledge and resources. Stay tuned!
