Event Description

In celebration of National Science Week, Vision Australia Library invite our dinosaur loving clients on a special Saturday adventure into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs! We’ll be touching real fossils, feeling ancient dinosaur bones and holding replica dinosaur eggs. You will journey to an amazing world, thousands of years ago, and learn about the magnificent creatures that used to roam the earth.

This tactile and sensory adventure will take you behind the scenes at the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibition at Queensland Museum. This newly opened exhibition features over 100 locally discovered fossils and meteorites, and more than 50 life-size reconstructions of Queensland’s prehistoric species.

Your personalised tour of the Dinosaurs Unearthed Exhibition will be hosted by a talented palaeontologist, who will talk about his first hand experience on ‘dinosaur digs’. This is your opportunity to ask everything you ever wanted to know about Australia’s iconic dinosaurs and megafauna!

This wonderful tactile tour is enhanced by the sensation soundscape that will surround you as you explore the prehistoric world of dinosaurs. This will be a truly immersive experience, a journey back in time.

After a well-deserved break with morning tea, our budding new palaeontologists will spend some sensory time with small models, replicas and exploration kits, imagining their future careers, discovering the stories of our past.
