Vision loss and My Aged Care

As we mature, our vision changes. Two thirds of people with an eye condition are over 65. That’s why it’s important to engage in services early, so you can maintain the quality of life you’ve enjoyed.

My Aged Care is not disability specific, but it covers services that help you with your vision loss and maintain your everyday independence. By independence we mean:

  • Reading the newspaper, personal mail with the help of a magnifier.
  • Making your home safe to reduce falls.
  • Getting to and from the shops or neighbours on your own.
  • And other ways to maintain your wellbeing.

Vision Australia is an approved aged care provider and receives subsidies to deliver your vision services or you can purchase services from your Home Care Package.
