Vision Australia remembers Maureen

07 January 2013

Vision Australia is sad to report the passing of one of our most esteemed clients and advocates, Maureen Davenport. Maureen was the Chairperson and driving force behind the Nundah and City Low Vision Support Groups in Brisbane and was the proud recipient of a Vision Australia Making a Difference award.

In addition to her involvement in countless Vision Australia initiatives, Maureen was an active and enthusiastic member of both Blind Citizens Australia and the Queensland Braille Writers Association.

Maureen passed away quietly in hospital on the 3rd of January. Vision Australia extends our most sincere condolences to her friends and family, including her husband John and sister Bev.

Maureen's funeral will be held at St Paschal Baylon Church, Warraba Avenue, Wavell Heights, Queensland commencing at 10:00am on Tuesday 8 January 2013.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Queensland Braille Writers Association at http://www.e-bility.com/qbwa/
