  3. Garry Linnell: explore stories of bushrangers, football players and more with award-winning writer and journalist.

These are 60-minute online events where you can ask our special guests questions in real-time.

Tony has overcome many challenges in his life. Being blind and partially deaf, he has travelled to 122 countries, bungee jumped twice, skydived three times and participated in a number of other adrenaline-filled activities without any support people – just him and his long cane. Tony has published two books about his travel adventures and personal journey of self-discovery.

Being classified as ‘non-astronaut material’ by NASA early in his career, has done nothing to dampen Dr Karl’s infectious enthusiasm for science. Finding fame via his ‘Great moments in science’ program on radio station Double J, Dr Karl has become a household name through his work on popular television shows including The Midday Show, Good morning Australia, Quantum, The Today Show, Sunrise and Sleek Geeks for the ABC. He has degrees in Physics and Maths, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, and has also published 45 books! No one conveys the excitement and wonder of the scientific world like Dr Karl.

Garry Linnell is one of Australia’s most experienced journalists and an award-winning writer. In addition to working as the Editor-in-chief of The Bulletin, Editor of The Daily Telegraph, Director of news and current affairs for the Nine network and Editorial Director of Fairfax, Garry spent four years co-hosting the Breakfast Show on 2UE. Garry has published three non-fiction books exploring the AFL, the life of Raelene Boyle and the career of AFL great Gary Ablett. His two historical non-fiction books include the bestselling novel ‘Buckley’s Chance’ and his most recent book ‘Moonlite’, a tragic love story of Captain Moonlite and the bloody end of the bushrangers.
