Join our wellness and beauty series for women, about staying healthy on the inside and out!

Run online by our Occupational Therapists, you can join from the safety and convenience of your own home.

You'll also get to connect with others, while learning about fun and educational topics like make-up application and skin care, wardrobe management, preparing tasty treats and looking after your mental health.

Topics:

Week 1 - Presenting your best self (part 1)

Make up and skin care

This session is suitable for women who have a very basic knowledge about make-up and skin care. You will be provided with low strategies to be able to set up your environment and learn tips and tricks to apply your make-up. You will also be provided with knowledge as to skin care steps and how to properly care for your skin.

Week 2 - Presenting your best self (part 2)

Grooming and wardrobe management

You will learn about different strategies to organise your wardrobe and clothing items, and identification strategies. You'll also hear about different adaptive technologies that can assist with this process, and discuss general tips and tricks on personal grooming so that you can present your best self forward.

Week 3 - “Healthy on the inside”

Meal preparation strategies

You will learn strategies for how to set up your kitchen to locate items easily in the pantry, discuss adaptive technology available to assist with cooking tasks, healthy nutrition and will get a chance to practice making a healthy snack. You will be provided with a list of ingredients in advance to prepare prior to the session.

Week 4 - Building mental and emotional resilience

Emotional and mental health

In light of the current Covid-19 situation you will be able to discuss practical ways to cope and build resilience. You will discuss the benefits of mindfulness, nutrition and learn exercises that you can complete from the comfort of your own home.

Week 5 - Keeping yourself safe

Personal safety inside and outside of the home

Learn strategies to keep yourself safe inside your home environment and learn what occupational therapists look for when completing safety checks. You will also discover strategies to keep yourself safe when going out and about in the community and learn about adaptive technology that you can consider when out and about in the community.

Week 6 - Women’s Health

In this session, you will learn about a variety of women’s health checks and the process of undertaking these confidently and comfortably.

You can join this program from the safety and convenience of your home via computer, tablet or even your phone. It’s easy to join and our team is also available to assist you in getting set up if you like. Just mention it when the team contacts you to discuss your registration.

Cost:

This series can be funded through your NDIS plan, My Aged Care or privately. To find out more about these options please discuss with Sharon during registration.
