Since its release in 2015, the free Vison Australia Connect app has seen several enhancements.
Through a simple interface the app allows our library members to listen to books, newspapers and magazines in DAISY audio format, via a direct link to our I-access catalogue.
The app now incorporates text to speech (TTS) and can read text based content including all of the books, newspapers and magazines available through I-access. It can also display the full text of a title when it is available, including newspapers, with full text highlighting in yellow as the text is read.
The app now also synchronises with the I-access online bookshelf so members can search for titles, add them to their bookshelf and stream or download them, so that they may listen at any time or anywhere.
The latest upgrade also allows Vision Australia podcasts and Vision Australia Radio can also be accessed via the app, and includes an improved messaging feature to allow important messages to be sent to members directly.
The app is available for devices using iOS 8.0 and above (iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch) and Android 4 and above (Smartphone and Tablet).
